The CI Team

The problems in your account management have been solved. You are again able to upload your member profile picture and update your statement and biography. We solved also the issue in FireFox.

Les problèmes dans la gestion de votre profile ont été corrigés. Vous pouvez changer votre image profile et mettre a jour votre biographie. Nous avons également réglé le problème de l’éditeur dans FireFox.

The CI team is glad to inform that Frank Shifreen, who works with us together in the cultureinside.com project, is currently in a show at Harvard called Speech Acts: Art Responding to Language, Rhetoric and Politics-open till May 1 at Lehman Hall Harvard University, directly on Harvard Square in Cambridge MA.

Hours are 9-11 monday thru Friday and to 9 on Saturdays and Sundays

Has exhibited paintings, sculpture, print, and video both in New York, the U.S and internationally. He is a well-known curator and organizer of art exhibitions. He is a teacher and is completing a doctoral program in Art and Art Education at Teachers College,Columbia University. His dissertation will be on notions of non-institutional art. He is a member of a coalition to bring artist-centered resources to the web (www.cultureinside.com). The steel sculptures shown began as a collaboration with artist Danny Scheffer.

"Rhetoric is not only language based, but is embodied in the signs, codes, and information that is part of our visual culture. I reflect on that caveat with my varied work in the show; sculpture of talking heads, an installation of a door, that has dualistic, theatrical, argumentative, philosophic symbolism. Recent political posters and paintings are included. The decision to create art is a rhetorical act, positing that art has value and meaning. Art can persuade that speaking out is worth the risk."

Friends

This feature will enable you to discover other members from our community sharing the same images in their lightbox as YOU.

You will also be able to invite your friends (and artists) in a simple way by directly importing from your address book! This is wonderful opportunity to find new peoples and maybe become "Friends".

Statistics

For our artists, from your account icons, you will discover a new tool "Statistics". In a quick and easy way, discover what of your arts is most voted and viewed, discover also which members are taking your images in their lightbox! This is a fantastic opportunity again to find members really interested in your art.

Gallery and image reorganization

As an artist you can now reorganize quickly the order of your galleries and photos with an easy to use drag and drop feature.

Add to lightbox

We have also simplified the "add to lightbox" feature in order to avoid confusion. Many of our members were asking for this simplification and we made it! Thanks for your feedback.

Dear members, as you have seen the last weeks, we, the tech team, pushed hard to deliver brand new features to support our community and more especially provide a greater visibility to our Artists. Just a few of them:

Social Bookmarking

Social Bookmarking enables all our visitors to share their favorite web pages with others. Many sites are out there. Maybe you know some of them, like Digg, Del.icio.us or Facebook (and many more).

Maybe you are already using one of them. CULTUREINSIDE has integrated in a smart way the possibility for the visitors to bookmark your blog entries, your galleries and all your pictures. And we have done that really smart  Just take a look of what was added to Digg for instance… 

Page Sharing

Page sharing enables the visitors to directly “take a picture” of your page and place it in one of their favorite Social Network sites, such as Facebook, Blogger, mySpace. We are working with a partner to make this page integration more intelligent and you will be surprised by the result (coming soon).

RSS Feed for all news and all blogs (NEW) 

You know that more and more internet users are directly receiving the news they want in their favorite environment (my Yahoo, iGoogle). RSS is quite simple xml syntax, but a human has hard time to read it! So, again, we are offering directly through FeedBurner, the possibility to all our visitors to directly post our news feed and blog feed in their favorite environment. Just take a look of what this gives in my yahoo….

Blog for all members

Until now, only artists had the possibility to post in their blog information about exhibition, or other interesting topics. Now, we are pleased to state: ALL members of CULTUREINSIDE can manage a blog. ALL members!
Btw, I’m the first one to use this possibility to give you those details
But, take a closer look to the editor and you will see an icon that will enable you to place an image inside your post! An image from your galleries OR from your lightboxes! Cool, if you want to share your view on specific images!

That’s all? Yes and that’s FREE, (I heard that other websites were asking money for those features. A kind of Premium account…. Could you believe this?)
