I am interested in the archaic symbols in art - symbols ancient, pre-Christian, not modified, free from the touch of the next generations and cultures. The primitive symbols - marks preserved till nowadays in artifacts, which have many meanings and interpretations. An egg, a spindle, a stove, a well, a cradle, threads, a wheel, the stone idols, the father, the mother, the earth, the light ets. All this are symbols and even the color is a symbol too. I represent them in my works which are, in its essences, the conceptual artifacts, filled half with a material, half with a fantastic and symbolical sense. It is the world forgotten and ancient as our earth, existing in the laws of nature, harmony, symbolism and philosophical-mythological interpretation of the reality. The ancestor’s world, which takes root and lives till nowadays, but could be interpreted by us differently. The world in which all was simple and it was enough only three colors - red, dark blue and black for transferring all the content of the world. Color for me is a symbol too, inseparable from the essence of a thing. Each thing and idea is a material and dictates its color image. Even my realistic works are symbolical on their color system and intend to come nearer to the ancient and primary harmony of our ancestors.
