The creative process is a kind of dialogue between myself and the medium. Having worked for years in the language & communication field as well as in the management, there was a moment in my time in Chicago, language changed into visual language. I am happy that I could participate years ago in one of the first classes “The digital tool for artists” at the SAIC (School of the Art Institute Chicago) to get connected to digital art. The combination of several art techniques - the traditional ones (in particular drawing and painting) and the digital tool - became my medium. My areas of interest are the creation and exploration of image variations, new dimensions thru underlying structures, shapes and pattern, visual language. So it is evident that I chose the digital tool for my work.
In my photographic work I am fascinated by architecture giving me a base for my structures and patterns, by graffiti living a culture or counter-culture movement full of creativity and technicity.
In my photographic work of life & people I am embedding my photos in abstract painting, so I hope you perceive it differently. The ordinary scene becomes extraordinary, a message is sent. Color & composition are critical. It's about my focus on our environment. My personal engagement in art is to make our environment visible.
