2004 : • Project of a 9feet direct cement sculptural representation of an Isoko
hunter returning from hunting exercise with a dead animal on his hand.
The sculpture represents an icon for the conflict that exist between man
and the wild life.
The animal is thus presented upside down and facing backward with its
tongue licking the earth as if crying for mercy to the earth god to come to
its plight. It was meant as manifesto against animal extinction in Africa in
Delta State University, Abraka, Nigeria.
Artist statement
Art is a life time learning experience, art is the ability for you to represent what you are being given, art create no room for boredom, art add quality to life, art is not a competition, it is self expression and communication, its like handwriting no two individual have the same.
Art is one of the universal language, it speak of things that are difficult or simply inexpressible in words, it touches the heart of everyone in one way or another regardless of race, belief, gender, cultural background.
Our world has many problem at present, in response to this I create artworks that is uplifting, urging motivating people to find love among themselves, to help and encourage each other to dance and sing and share life's bounty, with renewed love for each other and the global village on which we live.
About my Sculptures and Paintings
My images and composition often portray the way of life. I sculpt mainly in clay stone and wood. I paint in oil and acrylic on canvas with brush and pallet knife, the themes of my work are figurative, such as dancers, market scenes, portraits, landscape, etcetera. And are inspired by nature of African and Europe, also it talks about people and places.
My works are characterised by texture, rich and bright colours. They emphasize the
element and principle of design composition, propotion, perspective, balance and lines are introduced to depict movement. I have exhibited my sculpture and painting within and outside the country, people also come for work for exposition.
