Gabriel Zrihen works on our daily urban ambulations. The city is the space of all the expressions. It works on the signs of this urbanity like on their symbols. These signs which are the witnesses and the representatives of the political world, economic and social we form part. The windows of the stores or the posters for example reflect an important aspect but fleeing of economic, social and cultural reality. Because of the scatter and variety of its figurations, they go against the idealized representation and statics which the company likes to give of itself. They are unconscious which functions at the great day, which “bursts the eyes” and which, by the dispersion of its demonstrations, takes the attention at fault. These media, grow bigger, by the image and the slogan, the importance of the object or the evoked event, which they locate like goods. Challenged by the Méga Affiches called Billboard which stay on the walls of the American buildings, Gabriel Zrihen evokes the misunderstanding as for his exact role which is “to promote”. The poster becomes, at the same time, ambiguity. The artist diverts it role which it held to fall under the prospect for an artistic production. Gabriel Zrihen is urban, in love with the cities which they would like more beautiful. Spaces of life or the colors of the joy, the love, the surprise would take the place of violence, intolerance and misery.
