Jesse De Clercq
The artist was born in Stanford, California in 1972. His father moved the family to the North Shore of Lake Tahoe in the winter of 1975, where Jesse was raised.
A visual artist much of his life, Jesse also pursued creative writing and rock music beginning in high school. Intending to go to art school, but seeking a more comprehensive way to express various insights and experiences, he turned to English Literature after discovering arthur Rimbaud's "A Season in Hell" after completing his first semester of college.
He largely abandoned visual expressions for ten years, attending school at Cabrillo College and then the University of Nevada-Reno, playing in various punk bands and writing poetry.
Jesse briefly lived in Portland, Oregon playing with the band Carol's Chump before returning to North Lake Tahoe. During that time, he published a number of poems with "Paris/Atlantic" and began painting again full-time.
Jesse currently lives in La Quinta, California.
