I consider painting as a burst of the moment, a visit of our superego, an intention which marks the painting cloth... I express on the vertical surface no reflexive thought, I let brushes, knives, the various pigments of colour command... Then, when the rhythmic jubilation is not any more imperative, the picture ends naturally. Then begin this ceaseless and fascinating quest: to decipher the reading key. I scrutinize the painting under diverse angles, by adding some notions of distance and light (as a cooking recipe). My paintings are whimsical and contained, but when they finally open and deliver their message, an immense enjoyment invades me, a shape of communication where there is no place for words. There is necessarily in the art something which grows us and makes us travel outside the divisions and the daily conditioning. A draft of oxygen of another order, language as complex as music. My profession (cook) is to transform substances via sublimation on a horizontal plan. Today, I also adopted the vertical plan with the same passion. The gesture changes, but the love is the same... Long life to the art, long life to love!
